Armed with a crazy arsenal of instruments, Bones Jugs offer up distinctive original songs tucked in with hidden gems of the written or recorded archives, as well as the occasional spin on modern music. Fans of Spike Jones, The Memphis Jug Band, Bob Wills, and Scott Joplin will recognize their influence on the Bones Jugs’ sound.
With bones, jug, xylophone, kazoos, resonator guitar, 6-string banjo, banjolin, upright bass, trap kit, washboard, horns, and more horns, Bones Jugs put their unique stamp on everything they play.
Bones Jugs formed in 2013 in the fertile depths of Urbana, IL, and began growing a devoted following by treating audiences to exuberant exhibitions full of vitality and verve. They may draw from music that is older than grandma’s socks, but their performance is sure to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
